Sublime Large Pair of Gilt Bronze French Candelabra Charles X
SoldLarge pair of gilt bronze French candelabra Charles X
A magnificent pair of gilt bronze French candelabra Charles X with four arms of light. The basement, in the shape of a curved triangle, supports a tripod base with foliated and gadrooned lion’s paws. These lion’s paws are surmounted by a fluted shaft, adorned with grooves and palmettes. Further up, we see an inverted vase from which three arms extend to the vase shaped candle holders. These light arms take the form of a horn of plenty and have decorations of floral scrolls. Further, the candelabra are crowned with a fourth candle holder in the middle. All four candle holders have decorations of palm leaves and flowers. A separate and removable flame shaped piece for extinguishing the flames can be placed inside any of the candle holders....
This pair of gilt bronze French candelabra is a superb and truly decorative piece, in a very good condition.
