Bronze Sculpture Signed Drouot
Large (81 cm) bronze sculpture signed Drouot (1859-1945). It represents Vercingétorix with a palm branch of victory in his hand.
The sculpture has a beautiful patina and it is in very good condition.
This bronze sculpture signed Drouot appears in the standard work of Pierre Kjellberg “Bronzes of the 19th century” p. 291-295.
Edouard Drouot (1859-1945) was a French artist. He is known for his sculptures of mythological and allegorical scenes and his work has a sense of movement and expression. Drouot studied with the artist Mathurin Moreau at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and he exhibited from 1889 in the Paris Salon.
